Selman Breitman Continues to Grow With Three New Associates

Selman Breitman is pleased to announce further expansion with the addition of new associates in both the Los Angeles and Las Vegas offices.

Shellee E. Lindstedt is a member the firm’s Commercial Litigation, Construction, and Product Liability practice groups in the Los Angeles office. She handles commercial/real estate litigation cases, and defends developers, general contractors, subcontractors, and product manufacturers in construction defect litigation matters. 

Shellee earned her J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law, and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. Before joining Selman Breitman, she worked with the Post-Conviction Justice Project, where she represented indigent clients during parole hearings and filed re-sentencing petitions on behalf of juveniles sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.  Shellee also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Philip S. Gutierrez of the Central District of California, and as a law clerk to the Honorable Holly J. Fujie of the Los Angeles Superior Court. 

Active in community service, Shellee serves on the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles Board of Governors as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee, and is a member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association of Los Angeles County, the Asian Pacific American Women Lawyers Alliance, and California Women Lawyers.

Helene S. Nordon has joined the firm's General Liability, Product Liability, and Construction Law practice groups in Los Angeles.  She represents owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and manufacturers in cases involving product defects, construction defects, and contractual disputes. Prior to joining Selman Breitman, Helene worked for a Santa Monica-based firm focusing on family law.

She earned her J.D. from Southwestern Law School, where she received the Max A. Goodman Scholarship, was Managing Editor of Southwestern Law School’s Journal of International Law, and was responsible for managing the annual Write-On Competition. She was a member of  the International Law Society and Phi Alpha Delta fraternity.

She earned her B.A. in International Studies from the University of California, San Diego, earning Provost Honors and membership into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. After graduating, Helene completed her TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification, and spent a year in Granada, Spain, teaching English at an elementary school.

The Las Vegas office welcomes Eric S. Powers, who is working with the General Liability, Construction Defect, Insurance, and Trucking and Transportation practice groups.  He represents multi-national corporations, midsized businesses, insurance companies, aviation companies, general contractors, and subcontractors, involved in litigation and transactional disputes. He also serves as outside general counsel and has experience representing clients in disputes that involve catastrophic bodily injury and/or damage to property, wrongful death in premises liability, negligent security, transportation claims, workplace accidents, HOA matters, FCRA/FDCPA disputes, and various product liability matters, including those involving aviation-related products.

Before earning his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law, Eric was a commercial pilot with United Airlines and still today is a certified flight instructor.

Early in his career, Eric served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Timothy C. Williams in the Eighth Judicial District Court. He earned his B.S. degree from The Ohio State University and has received many accolades, including selection to the 2016-2017 Legal Elite by Nevada Business Magazine
