Selman Breitman congratulates Meka Moore, a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office, on her selection to the American Lawyer’s list of 2022 West Trailblazers. The award recognizes legal professionals who have served as agents of change in the profession, and who have made significant contributions to the practice, policy, and technological advancements of the practice of law. Meka was recognized for her leadership in founding the Los Angeles chapter of the National African American Insurance Association (NAAIA). Her recognition will be featured in the August/September issue of The American Lawyer.

Meka is a member of the firm’s Insurance Coverage practice group. She helps insurance companies in coverage-related matters involving first- and third-party cases arising from a variety of policies, including property-casualty, errors and omissions, and general liability. She has been responsible for several published opinions in California, including the precedent-setting case of Rios v. Superior Court (mistakes of an insurance broker cannot be held against insurer) and Adams v. Superior Court (insurer’s notice of cancellation for non-payment is effective despite post-notice payment by insured to agent).
