
California High Court is Weighing Significant Coverage Issue
The California Supreme Court is considering the case Yahoo! Inc. v. National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, S253593, which would have significant implications related to commercial general liability policies.

The issue at question relates to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and whether the sending of unsolicited text messages is in fact a privacy violation, triggering coverage by a commercial general liability policy. Several courts have offered opinions previously, but this ruling by the California Supreme Court will provide a precedent for the common use of this policy provision.
