Elaine Harwell to Present Data Privacy & Cyber Insurance Coverage CLE
Elaine F. Harwell will be a panelist at the upcoming CLE presentation, “Nightmares on Cyber Street: Recent Developments in Data Privacy Litigation and Cyber Insurance Coverage,” on October 17, 2016 for the San Diego County Bar Association’s (SDCBA) Insurance/Bad Faith and Civil Litigation law sections.
"Nightmares on Cyber Street" will focus on the current landscape of data privacy litigation and cyber insurance coverage law. The program will discuss the nature and consequences of the most common types of data breaches giving rise to privacy lawsuits, the typical causes of action and defenses, and recent court decisions and legislative developments affecting data privacy litigation, including Spokeo v. Robins. In the area of cyber insurance coverage, the program will discuss the most common coverage disputes, recent court decisions in the area of cyber insurance coverage, and how cyber coverage disputes can be avoided through the negotiation of enhanced coverage.
