Elaine Fresch to Speak at CLM National Construction Claims Conference
Elaine K. Fresch will speak at the 2016 CLM National Construction Claims Conference, to be held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego on September 29-30.
Elaine will participate in a panel discussion entitled, Product Liability Claims in Construction: Litigation, Coverage Tips and Strategies. In this session, a panel of experts will address litigating and managing product liability exposure in construction cases. The claim that a construction product is defective is often made in construction lawsuits, but the applicable laws and burdens of proof for product liability claims are not the same as the laws that apply to owners, builders and subcontractors. The panel will also discuss coverage issues arising in these claims, as well as disputes that commonly occur between product manufacturers and installers.
Elaine manages Selman Breitman's Construction Defect practice in both California and Nevada, regularly handling complex construction defect litigation cases. She also has an established Equine Law practice, and handles a variety of complex Commercial Litigation matters.
A recognized expert in her field, Elaine has been featured in the Outlook–Los Angeles Legal Section of Forbes Magazine, and in the Los Angeles Daily Journal. She has been selected as one of Southern California’s “Super Lawyers” for several years, and was named to the list of Top Fifty Women Lawyers in Southern California in 2014 and 2015. She is the recipient of several industry awards, including the Syhre Award for her commitment to service and education within the construction law industry. Elaine is regularly invited to speak at seminars sponsored by such organizations as West Coast Casualty, Defense Research Institute (DRI), MC Consultants, Orange County JAMS and Lorman Educational Institute on a variety of topics related to the construction industry and the defense of construction defect cases.
