Matthew Vela is an Associate in Selman Breitman’s Orange County office and is a member of the firm’s General Liability and Trucking & Transportation practice groups. He represents national corporations, insurance carriers, a major transportation network company, small businesses, and individuals in personal injury lawsuits and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims, including cases arising out of catastrophic injury, major property damage, and claims involving multiple tortfeasors.  Matthew also has experience in representing businesses, professionals, and individuals in disputes that involve commercial litigation, breach of contract, partnership disputes, premises liability, and defamation.

Matthew’s vast experience in civil litigation provides him with the ability to intrinsically understand and reduce complex legal issues into practical advice and representation to his clients.  He handles all stages of litigation and works tirelessly to facilitate the best possible strategy tailored to the law and facts of each case as well as the client’s own unique needs.

An Orange County native, Matthew currently resides in the world famous Corona del Mar. When not helping clients with their legal needs, he spends his time in the dojo practicing Shōrin-ryū Karate, enjoying SoCal’s beaches, exploring LA’s foodie scene, traveling, bartering, and keeping up with the Mouse and everything Disney related.
