Mark Flory is Of Counsel in Selman Breitman's Orange County office and is a member of the firm's Trucking and Transportation, Appellate Practice and Insurance Practice Groups. He represents commercial transportation companies and insurers in all aspects of claims handling and investigation, arbitration, trial and appeal.  In nearly forty years as a civil litigator, Mark has tried a wide variety of cases in state and federal court, including declaratory relief, equitable contribution, equitable subrogation, bad faith, broker malpractice, commercial auto and general liability.  In addition, he has briefed and argued over fifty matters in the California appellate courts, the California Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mark has served as regional and national counsel for insurers, retaining and supervising local counsel across the country and appearing pro hac vice in multiple states.

In addition to his litigation practice, Mark has advised insurers and self-insured entities on claims handling, underwriting, broker/agent relations, primary/excess issues and additional insured issues, and has drafted policy forms and endorsements.

Mark's broad experience enables him to identify and evaluate complex insurance issues, as well as to manage complex claims from investigation through resolution, whether by settlement, trial, or appeal. He works closely with claims professionals, general counsel, risk managers, and local counsel to guide his clients safely through insurance and claims issues.

Mark is often called upon by his clients and his colleagues to give presentations on various subject matters relating to insurance coverage, commercial transportation, and litigation. He has presented multiple times at the American Bar Association's Transportation Megaconference, the Trucking Industry Defense Association's Annual Conference, the ABA Commercial Transportation Committee's Annual conference, the DriveCam Annual Conference, and to multiple insurance claims departments and risk management departments.  His topics have ranged from Managing Self Insured Retentions, to Spoliation of Evidence, to Priority of Coverage in Commercial Trucking.

A Los Angeles native, Mark presently resides in San Pedro with his wife, Vivian, and their two cats.  When not helping clients with their legal needs, he spends his time traveling with Vivian, bicycling, and maneuvering his land paddle board around town.
