Jerel Pacis Agatep is an Associate in Selman Breitman’s San Francisco office and is a member of the firm’s Toxic Tort/Environmental, Products Liability, and General Liability practice groups. He represents contractors, retailers and manufacturers in toxic tort matters, including cases arising out of exposure to asbestos, talc, silica, and Benzene. He also has experience handling catastrophic personal injury matters and employment disputes such as: discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, and retaliation cases. In early 2017, Jerel served as second-chair for a U.S. Merits Systems Protection Board employment appeal case representing the United States Postal Service. Jerel received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine. While in law school, Jerel was a Senior Notes Editor for the Hastings Science and Technology Journal; served as the Director of Communications and Historian for the Pilipino-American Law Society; and was inducted to the Hastings Pro Bono Society for providing 45 hours of free legal services to the community. He also served as a mediator to the Honorable Judge Donald S. Mitchell (Ret.) of the San Francisco Superior Court’s Small Claims Department.

Jerel emigrated from the Philippines when he was 15 years old and resided in Los Angeles before moving to the Bay Area for law school. He is fluent in Tagalog and Ilocano. As an immigrant, Jerel is passionate about diversity, inclusion, and social justice, and hopes to continue working with underprivileged individuals, especially the Asian-American community. He is an active member of the Filipino Bar Association of Northern California, Asian Pacific American Bar Association – Silicon Valley, and Asian American Bar Association. When he is not wearing his legal hat, Jerel spends time playing basketball, going to the gym, cooking, trying new food spots, and rooting for his Los Angeles sport teams: Lakers, Dodgers, and Rams.
