Jerel Agatep Joins Selman Breitman's San Francisco Office

Jerel Agatep is an Associate in Selman Breitman’s San Francisco office and is a member of the firm’s Toxic Tort/Environmental, Products Liability, and General Liability practice groups. He represents contractors, retailers, and manufacturers in toxic tort matters, including cases arising out of exposure to asbestos, talc, silica, and Benzene. He also has experience handling catastrophic personal injury matters and employment disputes (discrimination, wrongful termination, harassment, and retaliation).

Jerel received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Irvine. While in law school, he was Senior Notes Editor for the Hastings Science and Technology Journal; served as the Director of Communications and Historian for the Pilipino-American Law Society; and was inducted to the Hastings Pro Bono Society for providing 45 hours of free legal services to the community. He also served as a mediator to the Honorable Judge Donald S. Mitchell (Ret.) of the San Francisco Superior Court’s Small Claims Department.

An emigrant from the Philippines at age 15, Jerel is fluent in Tagalog and Ilocano. Passionate about diversity, inclusion, and social justice, he is active in a number of organizations supporting underprivileged individuals, particularly in the Asian-American community.
