Daira Waldenberg is Of Counsel in Selman Breitman’s Seattle office and is a member of the firm’s Toxic Tort/Environmental, Product Liability, and General Liability practice groups. She represents insureds and self insureds in disputes involving tort liability including cases arising out of negligence, wrongful death, products liability, and toxic/environmental exposures.  Daira’s clients include insurance companies, small and large business owners and commercial construction companies.  She also has considerable experience in appellate practice and trying cases.

Beginning her career as a Trial Attorney for Farmers Insurance Company, Daira individually managed over 500 litigated cases through negotiation, mediation, summary judgment, arbitration, or trial.  Prior to joining Selman Breitman she worked in private practice defending a large caseload of complex general liability, premises liability, wrongful death, negligence, defamation, product liability and toxic tort claims.  Her practice included litigating cases at the state and federal level, as well as providing consulting services on trial and pre-trial strategy.  Daira has substantial experience assessing the value of cases and has successfully negotiated hundreds of settlements. She has served as an Arbitrator in the King County Superior Court for more than 15 years.

Born in Seattle, Daira's family is originally from Latvia.  She resides with her husband in Issaquah, Washington at the foothills of the Cascade Mountains.  When not helping clients with their legal needs she enjoys hiking, camping, skiing, traveling, reading, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
